Welcome to the Duluth Movement Arts Project ( DMAP )!~ DMAP is working in conjunction with the Midway Movement Arts Project ( MMAP ) of St. Paul. Midway Movement Arts Project was created by Sonja Ramos, one of my cohorts in the Yoga North Teacher Training Program which came to closure in March. Sonja created MMAP with the idea of neighbors coming together and doing activities that promote healthy, active lifestyles. MMAP has evolved into just that and they have discovered that their sole focus is yoga. Yoga is one of those things that makes people feel amazing but many folks may not have access to it. MMAP has already kicked off a very exciting 8 weeks of sharing the love of yoga and making it available to everyone, regardless of skill level.

Sonja and her partner Jessica have already had two beautiful weeks of yoga in Newell Park in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul We will attempt to do the same in Chester Park here in Duluth. My hope is that this will be a regular class enjoyed by people of Duluth outside in the fresh morning air; what better place than Chester up on top of the hill, with a stunning view of our Great Mother Lake Superior. The class will be available to everyone, regardless of level and will be a basic Hatha/Vinyasa class with some Thai Bodywork added in.

I am using this eight week series as part of my practicum to complete my Yoga Certification with the Yoga Alliance. After the eight weeks is over, we will see what comes next! The possibilities are endless.

Class is slated to begin on Tuesday, June 1st from 930-1030am. It will be held up on top of the chairlift in Chester and is free to all. The class will continue on through the summer, give or take. Dates will be:
June 1
June 8
(no class June 15)
June 22
June 29
July 6
July 13
July 20
July 27
We may continue on through August if the interest is there. Class will be held as long as it is above 50 degrees, it is not torrentially pouring and there are not lightning bolts jumping out of the sky.
Looking forward with love and lightness!!!!

Namaste,
Margaret
